OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES FOR POSITIVE CHANGE TO INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE OF NEBRASKA THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, TRANSITIONAL LIVING SERVICES, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, AND AFTER SCHOOL/SUMMER PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES PROVIDED ARE STATEWIDE WITH OFFICES/STAFF LOCATIONS IN OMAHA, LINCOLN, COLUMBUS, NORFOLK, GRAND ISLAND, KEARNEY, NORTH PLATTE AND SCOTTSBLUFF. THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDE PALS (PREPARATION, TRANSITION AND INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES)-DESIGNED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE WITH THE CHALLENGES OF BECOMING INDEPENDENT, ETV (EDUCATION AND TRAINING VOUCHER PROGRAM)-PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, AS WELL AS ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT, FOR CURRENT AND FORMER STATE WARDS TO ATTEND THE COLLEGE OF THEIR CHOICE. PAYS UP TO $2400/YR FOR TUITION, FEES AND BOOKS FOR 5 YEARS IF NEEDED, CYI (CONNECTED YOUTH INITIATIVE)-HELPS UNCONNECTED YOUNG PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE IN THE FOSTER CARE AND JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEMS, STRUGGLING WITH HOMELESSNESS, OR WHO ARE DISCONNECTED FROM A FAMILY STRUCTURE TO IMPROVE YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES AND NETWORKS FOR HOUSING, TRANSPORTATION, HEALTH CARE, CONNECTIONS TO PEER AND ADULT SUPPORTS, EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT, EMPLOYMENT, CAREER PATHWAYS, AND FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT, LEAP (LEARN & EARN TO ACHIEVE POTENTIAL)-HELPING KIDS GET BACK ON TRACK TO THE EDUCATION NEEDED TO ACHIEVE THEIR LIFE GOALS, SIXPENCE-EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM FOR PRENATAL TO 3 YEAR OLDS FOR PARENTS WANTING TO ENGAGE AND LEARN ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN , SKC (SUPER KIDS AFTER SCHOOL CLUB). EACH PROGRAM MAY ONLY BE AVAILABLE IN CERTAIN AREAS ACROSS THE STATE.
