Description
SUPPORT TO FAMILIES WITH YOUTH WHO HAVE BEHAVIOR, EMOTIONAL OR SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES, OR ARE AT RISK OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM. DEVELOPED BY FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR SITUATIONS AND HAVE FELT A LACK OF SUPPORT AND UNDERSTANDING. GOALS: TO HELP FAMILIES FIND COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND SUPPORTS, CONNECT FAMILIES WITH OTHER FAMILIES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR SITUATIONS, REDUCE THE LEVEL OF FRUSTRATION AND ANXIETY FAMILIES EXPERIENCE WHEN TRYING TO LOCATE SERVICES AND TO BRING POSITIVE CHANGES TO THE FAMILY. ALSO PROVIDES PARENTING EDUCATION CLASSES.
